Part of the problem was that I forgot my password, and another part was that I wasn't making much, and the stuff I did make was mostly crap; I blame absurdly large amounts of (mostly) college related stress. But that's neither here nor there: I'm back, into college, and feeling creative again (thank God). I've also decided, after much thought (that is, about a minute) that the quotes I put under my photos won't have anything to do with the photo anymore; although I like cerebral photographs, I don't want to force it down the viewer's throat either. Just look. I apologize for this, I've been very busy both with crew and my photo work for The Exonian and the PEAN. Today I return home, and will be able to concentrate more on my photography. But for now... "I have often thought that if photography were difficult in the true sense of the term -- meaning that the creation of a simple photograph would entail as much time and effort as the production of a good watercolor or etching -- there would be a vast improvement in total output. The sheer ease with which we can produce a superficial image often leads to creative disaster." -Ansel Adams (1902 - 1984) http://www.huntingholly.com/entry/20070415 The Mules and The Car http://www.huntingholly.com/entry/20070415 Sun, 15 Apr 2007 17:40:03 -0800 General

"How is one to live a moral and compassionate existence when one is fully aware of the blood, the horror inherent in life, when one finds darkness not only in one's culture but within oneself? If there is a stage at which an individual life becomes truly adult, it must be when one grasps the irony in its unfolding and accepts responsibility for a life lived in the midst of such paradox. One must live in the middle of contradiction, because if all contradiction were eliminated at once life would collapse. There are simply no answers to some of the great pressing questions.
